How do we cope with concepts and feelings that overcome us? How do we establish our personality against the overarching effect of the universe, love, power, society, family? What do we do when the language we use is not sufficient to express experiences such as despair, terror, pleasure, eternity that we feel against ‘the Sublime’? What happens when the one that takes the breath away and the one that cuts it off mingle together?
In this exhibition, Sanatorium artists Ludovic Bernhardt, Luz Blanco, Orhan Cem Çetin, Erol Eskici, Handan Figen, Ahmet Doğu İpek, Çağla Köseoğulları, Kemal Özen, Yağız Özgen, Zeyno Pekünlü, Sergen Şehitoğlu and Sevil Tunaboylu present the audience their experiences regarding the ‘Sublime’ on a multi-layered ground varying from metaphysical connotations to the power relations established in our lives by the sublime.
