SANATORIUM will host the exhibition “aRb” consisting of works by Kerem Ozan Bayraktar, Şeref Erol and Yağız Özgen between June 15 – July 15, 2017.
The exhibition’s title comes from L. Wittgenstein’s Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus. “aRb” is a mark signifying that our minds cannot on their own conceive plain objects or elements but can conceive contexts that consist of relationships between objects or elements. In this sense, this exhibition includes works that emphasize relations and not objects and center on the context.
The works in the exhibition entitled “aRb” are based on the workshops carried out in the past by Bayraktar, Erol and Özgen concerning the analysis of the concepts of relation and mapping related to the text “Gödel’s Proof” and on the basis of their experiences enabled by the Definition of Art Group.
The basic feature of mapping is that an abstract structure of relations embodied in one domain of “objects” can be shown to hold between “objects” (usually of a sort different from the first set) in another domain. (E. Nagel, James R. Newman)
