Christiane Peschek’s paintings combine digital and physical processes to explore contemporary portraiture. Using mixed media such as digital retouch tools, sublimation dye, and pastel pigments, she creates delicate, layered works that merge virtual imagery with tangible materiality. The portraits often originate from scanned skin or filtered self-images, translated through a hybrid process that fuses technology and traditional painting. Her works result in soft, translucent surfaces that evoke the tension between the digital and the human, offering a refined aesthetic that reflects current shifts in identity, presence, and representation within technologically mediated environments.
At UNTITLED, she debuts new works from her ongoing series LIMINAL GHOSTS. The paintings are accompanied by a stainless-steel wall text reading you too shall pass, expanding the work into a sculptural gesture. Suspended 3D-printed chandeliers cast a soft grey tone across the installation, creating an eerie, post-apocalyptic atmosphere that echoes the series’ themes of transience and transformation, central to Peschek's practice.
