SANATORIUM presents Gülşah Mursaloğlu’s “Folds Out of Thin Air” at Parallel Vienna which showcases her installation Merging Fields, Splitting Ends (Sequence III) (2021), series of screen prints Dog Days in Retrospect (2022), and her new video work A Chanting Egg, Near the Dent (2024). Mursaloğlu’s practice investigates materiality, matter’s agency, time, human and non-human temporalities. Her installations which emerge after an in-depth and extensive research process, don’t remain stable in form, and manifest themselves as dynamic and fluid systems through their ephemeral nature. Her recent works focus on the conditions that enable life to emerge and flourish and how humans and non-humans voluntarily and involuntarily eat/devour/consume the earth and actors from the underground.
