Out of Place

8 January - 16 February 2014

Sanatorium starts off 2014 with a solo exhibition by Çağla Köseoğulları titled Out of Place (Yersiz). Opening on January 8, the exhibition will feature her ink drawings on paper focusing on issues of city and migration, tracking down what is ignored, rendered insignificant and worthless in the routines of daily life.

Köseoğulları’s drawings create a world within which the subjects are selected meticulously and located at the center to be recirculated in an unusual and eccentric language. Köseoğulları approaches to those who are forced into provisional belongingness and thus turned into urban ghosts, with the same ambiguous language they are exposed to. She pursues what is left aside, forgotten and identified as waste, residue.

Çağla Köseoğulları’s exhibition titled Out of Place (Yersiz) is open until 16 February, 2014.
