SANATORIUM is pleased to present Sergen Şehitoğlu's first solo exhibition in the US, titled “310 Artist Portraits (2025)” at FIERMAN New York from December 11, 2025, to February 1, 2026. Built on data collected from Google's Arts & Culture interface, the exhibition takes shape around the distinction between knowledge and information and the hegemony of knowledge, while questioning concepts such as lists, visual culture, and the art world.
“310 Artist Portraits (2025)” examines the structures that determine the conditions for an artist's acceptance, through lists, numerical data, information, and the visual era. In this era where the distinction between knowledge and information has become blurred, as in other similar fields, these unclear data have become decisive in the recognition of an individual within a community (as an artist). In this sense, the exhibition invites us to consider the replacement of the “art world” by a digital system of acceptance, and to reflect on the assumptions that shape the writing of art history, which determine an artist’s permanence.
The fundamental guideline of this systematic project, first implemented in 2017, has been reapplied within the scope of this exhibition, and the data obtained has created different formal variations of the same idea.
Sergen Şehitoğlu’s exhibition “310 Artist Portraits (2025)” proposes a reconsideration of Machiavelli’s statement, “Whoever possesses knowledge possesses power,” by constructing an allegory that takes his own field as a reference point to reflect on what the current age has brought.
The exhibition can be visited at FIERMAN New York from Wednesday to Sunday between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM from December 11, 2025, to February 1, 2026.

The material Şehitoğlu uses in his recent productions is cheap visuals obtained via the internet and Google tools that are used by many artists. These works, which both redefine the boundaries of photography and question the limits of the concept of privacy in a world dominated by control systems, can be considered as an exercise to look at current subjects and tools.
